Description
The Lab Equipment & Metrology Technician is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of a wide range of laboratory equipment within the Biotechnology and CMC-PDS divisions of this global contract research services company. The candidate has a responsibility to conduct all work in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, and specifically those regulations (GxP) specified in the study plans, protocols or work agreements governing the work in which they are involved.

Key Responsibilities
Reporting to GMP Equipment & Metrology Manager:
Perform routine servicing and calibration of a wide range of equipment;
To ensure all equipment is calibrated and serviced in accordance with the metrology schedule;
To ensure timely reporting of faulty equipment and to arrange the repair;
To coordinate visits by Service Engineers ensuring appropriate health & safety procedures are adhered to;
To maintain records of all equipment as per SOP, P&P etc including metrology schedules, calibration records and service/repair details;
To maintain the centralised schedule of all calibration, servicing and routine maintenance.

The Candidate
Most suited to this role of Lab Equipment & Metrology Technician will be someone with previous maintenance or calibration experience of laboratory equipment.

The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent in life science or related subject and should possess practical experience of a relevant science or engineering subject. A degree of manual dexterity is desirable and a background of working to written procedures would be preferable.

A sound working knowledge of GMP and GLP would be advantageous.
