Electroporator settings:

For Xenopus:

Brain or eye electroporation:

Make sure to use capacitors  and set output to MONO

                  DNA moves toward positive pole.
                  DURATION                       1.6ms
                  VOLTAGE                          30-70V (higher settings may kill animals)

 Single cell electroporation/iontophoresis of dextans or DiI:
                  Do not use capacitors
                  Set output to MONO  -  pipette should be + lead and bath should be - lead
                  DURATION                       120ms
                  VOLTAGE                          30-80V

Single cell electroporation/iontophoresis of DNA:
                  Do not use capacitors
                  Set output to MONO  -  pipette should be -  lead and bath should be + lead
                  FREQUENCY                  200Hz
                  DURATION                       1ms
                  VOLTAGE                          30-80V (too high will clog tip)
                  Give 3-5 bursts of about 1 sec each. (REPEAT not SINGLE button)
